Question:  Wry face
I am looking for information and guidance please.

Over a month ago I had a cria born with "wry face." I have had Dr.
Pugh, formerly from Auburn , come to the farm and speak to me on this
deformity and recessive gene. He told me that other vets disagree with him about
breeding the female again. I am at a lost on what to do. There is little to NO
 information on this subject.

I would appreciate more than you know, any information you can
give me and your beliefs and scientific facts on rebreeding or not.

 Thank you very much.

Answer:

Wry face is potentially inherited, but mode of inheritance not known. Certainly do not
breed cria, and certainly do not repeat male-female combination. Aside from
that, there is not much data to work from.  The defect has been reproduced by breeding
wry face to wry face parents.
